Liposuction involves the removal of fat deposits under the skin and is sometimes down in conjunction with muscle tightening procedures. Both men and women can have this procedure. The most common area for this procedure is the chin and neck area.
Liposuction can be performed in Dr. Harper’s office with IV sedation or general anesthesia. A small incision is made under the chin, usually in a skin fold or line, and suction devices are used to remove fat deposits. If muscle tightening is required, it can be done through the same incision.
A bandage will be worn for a few days to help hold the tissues in place, and help to achieve a smooth, tight chin —neck profile. After the first few days, the bandage will only need to be worn at night.
